We know you’ve been talking about it for months. No doubt it’s hard work – coordinating everyone’s schedules to find that perfect date, budgeting, getting time off… We’ve been there!
The part that shouldn’t be hard? Finding the girls trip destination. The ideal destination has something for everyone in the group to enjoy. Outdoor activities for your active friends, shopping for those with good taste, delicious restaurants for the foodies in your life, and so on.
This is why Bar Harbor is one of the best girls trip destinations in the US. You get the best of both worlds: stunning ocean views for the ocean girls and incredible mountain scenery for anyone who loves being on land. You’ll also find a charming downtown streets lined with incredible restaurants and shops. Plus, if you’re looking to stay close to the fun while not missing out on any ocean OR mountain views (yes, we have both), we recommend booking your stay with us at Bluenose Inn or Wonder View Inn!
Here is our 2-day perfect girls trip to Maine itinerary: Bar Harbor edition.
Day 1: Arrive & Get Settled (& Take Cute Room Pics)
You’ve made it, hurray! The fun can now begin. A great girls weekend trips starts with checking into a great hotel. Bluenose Inn and Wonder View Inn are two of the scenic Bar Harbor hotels just minutes from both downtown and Acadia National Park where you’ll immediately be greeted with amazing views of Frenchman Bay.
One of the most fun things to do on a girls trip is taking cute photos everywhere. But, this shouldn’t be limited to places outside of your room. The Bluenose Inn Eden Building suites are the PERFECT backdrop for aesthetic photos with coastal-inspired decor and incredible views that make every corner feel photo-worthy!
Each Eden Building Suite features a King bed and Queen size pull out sofa, a full kitchen, living room with electric fireplace, 55″ smart tv for movie night, a large bathroom with oversized walk-in shower and double vanity with a make-up mirror (so counter space shouldn’t be a huge issue). To top it all off, your room opens up to an expansive balcony. Ocean views vary, but our premiere options on the left side of the building will get you the best view (SO worth it!).

SETTLED IN? LET'S HEAD DOWNTOWN For dinner & shopping!
After you’ve checked-in, captured an Instagram story (or two) of your view, and changed out of your travel clothes into a cute outfit, it’s time to head into downtown Bar Harbor to start exploring! The walkable streets are full of local boutiques, wine bars, and cozy cafés.
For dinner, find a nice restaurant and toast the start of your girls trip to Maine with lobster, oysters, or whatever fresh seafood catches your eye. The Chart Room is a great option with delicious seafood options and land-fare for those who prefer it.

relax with a cocktail & live music
After dinner downtown, keep the first night of your girls weekend getaway going with cocktails and live music at the Great Room at Bluenose Inn!
Pianist Bill Trowell plays Monday – Saturday from 7pm to 10pm and even a few select holidays.
